The event at Big Horn Golf 

Club in Palm Desert, Ca. brought together a unique group  assembled by host John Ply. It was composed of friends old and new.  Besides being a friend of John's an unusual qualification  was required. You must  have  read "The Golf Mystic"   in order to attend.  As John predicted far more than golf lessons occurred at the event.  Each evening at the Big Horn Club dining room all  the participants could share their experiences of their golf lessons.  They enjoyed dinners and conversation long into the night.  Suffice to say the stories  in the book  came alive as the week wore on.  Discovery golf was happening. The common thread shared  by  professional photographer John O'Neill who chronicled the event in photos and video, "The most interesting thing to me as I spent the entire day observing and photo shooting was that fact that no lesson was alike. I mean they seemed to end up in the same place but the route to get there differed with each and every golfer.   Just like the book. The Lama remarked that he believed the  best part of the whole affair  was the fact  that everyone got a peek at their potential during their lessons and moving forward seemed to feel  optimistic.  He told me that there was a strong likelihood that these students will become their own best coaches.  This group was the most open I have ever taught in my entire career  and that was the reason it worked out so well.  What a luxury!."
